Leslie Carnahan receives the American Association for Cancer Research’s (AACR) Scholar-in-Training award
Leslie Carnahan, Research Specialist at the University of Illinois at Chicago’s (UIC) Center for Research on Women and Gender and PhD Candidate in the School of Public Health, received the American Association for Cancer Research’s (AACR) Scholar-in-Training award. This funding will allow them to attend the 12th AACR Conference on the Science of Cancer Health Disparities in Racial/Ethnic Minorities and the Medically Underserved in San Francisco in September 2019. At the conference, they will present findings from the Illinois Rural Cancer Assessment (PI: Dr. Yamile Molina) describing associations between quality of life and multilevel social factors (e.g., socioeconomic context, survivor-caregiver networks, and social functioning) among rural cancer survivors.
